PE
was wondering if anyone else's ig wags their tail
:Sometimes, as PE said, we can't figure out why they are doing it.
:Other times, it signals that something is going on that is making them nervous, or that they are planning an action, usually aggressive in nature. With igs in such situations, it may be used as a lure, to draw the subject's eyes away from focusing on the iguanas's eyes or forequarters to focus on the tail, so they miss the iguana going into action.

:There's more on tail twitching and some other not-necessarily-breeding behaviors at my http://anapsid.org/behav.html page.
