(i'm not an expert, just someone totally 'in love' with her ig!)
so, *that* disclaimer aside ... (*grin*)

it sound like your iglet is doing well! if the vet thinks he looks healthy and he's active and eating (and you *can't* see his ribs *grin*) things sound good! one thing, did the vet check a poop specimen for parasites/worms??? most (if not all) igs will have worms until they're treated ... (they're *born* with them, i think) *that* will make a HUGE difference in growth rate!!! oh, also it'd be helpful if you had blood tests done ... it can tell you the level of calcium in his blood and help you know if you're feeding him right or if you need to adjust his diet abit ...

if he's grown 2" svl, i'm guess-timating that he's grown about 2" of tail for every 1" of body, so *that* means he's actually grown 6" total in 5 months?? does that sound about right? an inch +/- (for nose to tail tip measurement) a month is about average (but again, it's hard to compare igs cuz there are soooo many variables!)

glad he gets plenty of roaming/climbing time! that *greatly* eases any stress of a small enclosure while his new one is being constructed!
double check your husbandry practices (warm enough but with a cooler spot, humidity, climbing surfaces, high spots to bask on, etc, etc)

as far as what iZ eats: pretty much i go by Jen Swofford's suggestions (which are similar to MK's) ... iZ likes GREENZ! when iZ was smaller, i had fresh food available to him all day long so he could graze whenever he wanted (which was *alot*!) he eats twice a day now (2 *huge* salads that would fill *me* up!) ...

MK, Jen S. (+ this board!) have helped me raise iZ to the green beauty he is today!

it really does sound like you're doin' a good job with your iglet tho!

: P + : )
