but since reptiles aren't covered under livestock/animal welfare laws on a statewide basis in SC, nobody seemed really sure who's jurisdiction the case would be. Especially since the source of origin of these animals was from out of the country.
It was a rep from South Carolina's Department of Disease Control who referred me to the CDC, as they have a special unit for cryptosporidiosis. The CDC has asssured me that Disease Control officers in SC will be apprised of all findings.
