Well I was looking at it from the standpoint that I don`t have one yet- and was wondering if that would solve most of the problems that I read about daily with you guys- If it`s really that big of a deal then I might not go with it. I do have the money and no, this wouldn`t be my first herp- not by a long shot =) So I do know about aftercare, etc. It just makes soort of sense.. Think of it how I was viewing it Not Spayed+teenage years= monster/medical problems while Spayed+teenage years= mellow/not as many health problems.
I understand that many people have a problem with spaying and neutering animals, this differs with every owner. I just believe if you don`t ever intend to breed, or breeding will cause problems for the animal in the future- you should take care of it early.
I had to do this with several non-reptiles I was keeping for awhile- until I gave them to families who wanted them. The animals had birth defects that would have caused problems had they ever gotten pregnant. If I do get an ig I`m going to try and stick with a female, being as on the whole they seem more mellow. Like me =)
aLL-IN-ALL I`ll just wait until the situation presents itself. Like I said, I don`t have one yet- at least till I have the space and time to keep one.
Thanks for reading.
