Spaying a female before her ovaries are mature is risky

If a girl is ovulating, it is much easier to tell that you aren't leaving free-floating ova in the abdominal cavity.

Should immature eggs get left behind with enough ovarian tissue clinging to it, she can produce enough hormones to mature the eggs. Potentially she could become eggbound even after a spay.
