i don't remember where, but somewhere I heard that peroxide is no good.
A diluted betadine solution is best. Some triple antibiotic might help, just make sure he can't get at it and ingest it.
Keep it free of dirt and any other possible pathogens.
Like the others said, how big is the iguana? How much tail was lost? Has the bleeding stopped?
To be doubly safe, bring the iguana to a qualified reptile vet.
