In my igs cage I put a big grill covering the bottom like a bird's cage.Under the grill, close to the floor, I spread the substrate.You can use any substrate even the one that is used for hamsters because the grill will avoid the iguanas from eating it.With the grill the cage will be always spotless!My igs learned to poop and pee over the grill so when they want to go to the bathroom they go down and do it just over the grill.The poops and pees go between the bars of the grill direct to the substrate!

: What do you think of ground cover though? He is between 3-6 foot. So, do you think ground cover would be needed/okay or should I just stick with newspaper?
