In Reply to: Iggy that won't go to the bathroom. posted by Martin on March 05, 1999 at 15:40:55:
: My female iggy is about 2 1/2 years old. I took
her to the vet the first time this happened and
the vet gave her her an enema and told me she was
in good health, maybe she was a little
constipated. The vet also stated that he blood
work revealed a high calcium level. "Cheek" my
iggy resides in a 90 gallon aquarium, heated by 2
100 watt ceramic heaters and 75 watt night bulb
which is on during part of the day.
: I am wondering is this a symptom of an early egg
bound iggy or are my husbandry techniques wrong.
Cheek eats like a pig. She will go as long as
2weeks with out relieving herself. I am very
concerned. This is my most tame and first
reptile. I love her like she is my child. Open
for suggestions.
: Thanks Martin
Everyone covered anything I could say except, if you haven't got a taller cage right now, let her free roam your home for some excerise. And routin is very good for igs,so as everyone said, warm bathes too and diet.Keep fresh water in her cage at all tmes.Hope we helped and good luck.
