Lizard is about 3 years old. He's somewhat small for his age, because for awhile he had some owners who didn't take very good care of him. First he was fed crickets, and then nothing but carrots for 6 months or more. :-/ He's about 11-12" SVL and 37-38" STL. He's been to the vet because of MBD, but I don't think they ever checked for parasites. Although at first he had NO appetite because of the MBD and swollen jaw, once he started eating again he ate pretty well. His appetite is better today. I won't know until later if it's normal again or just better than yesterday... As far as growth goes, he has been shedding. Lately, I've been helping him get that old skin off his toes. :-)
Anyway, the reason I didn't think hormones or breeding season at first is because I thought he was through with it for the year. Plus, he was sooo docile when I brought him outside for a walk in the park yesterday. He sat calmly on my shoulder the whole time and had no problem with strangers petting him or anything. He's a good boy. :-) (Most of the time.)
: sorry, i can't keep track of all the "new faces" around here ~ how old is Lizard???
: what i'm wondering is ~ has he ever been tested/treated for parasites? that could affect his appetite as well as his poop ...
: also depending on his age, the appetite could be a "growth spurt" related thing ...
: input and output *are* very important indicators of health ... i'd keep a close eye on both ...
: very probably it's nothing ~ or hormones ...
: but ... don't automatically assume that behavior changes are hormone-related! if you're still worried after a few more days, take him in for a check up!!!
: *headrubbies* for Lizard
: (+ STOP making your humommy worry!!!)
: best wishes!
: Bon.
