Mine is free roaming. He has his own area in my room on a table next to a window. He gets fed there, has a basking light and a UVB light there. He's trained to poop in the bath tub. He does knock stuff over sometimes, though. If you have a free-roaming iguana, you'll need to ig-proof the room. I, personally, would be somewhat worried about having a ferret or a dog around. Some iguanas will be aggressive, others won't, you just have to know your own iggy. :-)
