Outside cages are fine if you live in an ig friendly climate or for a temporary summer home.(we do treat them like royalty don't we?) However if it gets too cool like here in Oklahoma a heat lamp in a ventilated cage is not going to be enough. You would have to build the equivalent of a refrigerator with lots of insulation to hold the heat in. The flip side of that is in the summer you would need a/c because even though they are a tropical animal they will overheat and die.
