Before anyone goes flaming me for negligence or lack of education or whatever, I want to say that Phil is the focal point of my life and I would die before anything happened to him. I am currently trying to get him to scratch me in the face in revenge.
Here goes:
We are visiting my mother in Austin and Phil is in a dog crate that is probably a little too small. Anyway, we went outside to barbecue, and when we came back in he was nowhere to be found. He was in his locked cage in a room with a closed door, but somehow got out (I don't know if the door wasn't latched all the way or what)and had an encounter with my mother's cat. When we found him, he was entirely black and had somehow bent himself in half between an end table and a wall. I had to leave the room, I was so scared.
Anyway, I need some help (!)
1) Phil was unscathed, more or less, but the last 1/4 inch of his tail is bloody and missing some scales. I've never patched anything up on a lizard before and we are 3 hours from my vet. Is there a quick fix in the meantime?
2) I need some bathroom-proofing tips ASAP so Phil can have a safe place to stay where he is comfortable.
3) I need a quick travel cage design! I'm giving up on the dog crate :::winces:::
Anyway, the boyfriend and I have been crying for hours now (even though Phil IS okay). He's green again and eating like a pig. Thanks for any advice,
-Lily
