My igs left eye

I have an ig about 8 months old and I been seeing him close his left eye while keepin the other open. This is my first ig and I was wonderin what could possibly be the problem and if is should see the vet. I dont want my ig to be just usin one eye and all. . . any ideas would be appreciated.
