Hi, I just purchased an Iguana from a friend who is moving. The Iguana's name is Zeb (good name, thinks I). Anyway, Zeb came with a nice-sized cage and all the amenities (lights, heat rocks, dishes, food, etc.). Zeb's about 25" long head to tail.
I have a screened-in sun-porch on which I place Zeb's cage each day. He has shade, but receives a fair amount of indirect sunlight. Of course, he has plenty of water and leafy, moist food available to him. The temperatures he's exposed to are warm to hot (75F to 95F).
At night I bring him in (it has been dropping into the 60's), but would like to leave him out there with a heat lamp when the temps average above 70+F at night.
Can anyone tell me... is putting Zeb's cage outside during the day a benefit to him? It just seems to me that he's happier in the fresh air.
(I'd love to hear other input on Iguana care if you're up to it)
Thanks!
Zeb & Joe
