That was long enough ago that is was almost off the board, and I have not scrolled that far down for a while. Heck, I forgot I even made that post. I guess I have been a little busy actually taking care of animals rather than surfing the forums.

Travis, I do not like to argue with you. I know you have tons of experience with iguanas, and you have some very specific opinions on what you think is good and what is bad. But to say I have NO understanding of iguanas and animal protein is a little harsh. You cite information from 7-10 yrs ago, and tell me it is still GOOD information. In turn, I tell you what is out there for current information. So your only arguement is that the old information is better?

The information your cited is not documented, and little is known if it is actually fact. Just like I do not have concrete proof that animal protein killed several of our iguanas. But I do know that animal protein was a large part of the diets of all of our animals that have died due to crystallization of major internal organs, to include the liver and kidney first and foremost. So what I CAN tell you, is that we have seen MUCH healthier, and MUCH more natural growth in iguanas that have NOT been fed animal protein.

I don't have any fancy studies, or any famous people to quote. I can't tell you what the books said 10 years ago. All I can do is tell you what I have seen, and what the poor diets have done to many iguanas. Maybe the animal protein is just a common piece of the puzzle. Maybe a lack of UVB, low calium/high phosphorus content, and all around poor diet makes up the bulk of the problems I have seen.

Maybe we can some day discuss things like adults, and get rid of the chip on our shoulders.

: As for Mark he simply likes to argue about thing he has no understanding of . I responded to his post below with documented FACTS so he has not responded to it .
