After reading your message I went to the drugstore where I asked the pharmacist responsible for medicines with prescription about PEDIALYTE and similar products.He said to me that PEDIALYTE cannot be used in small animals like baby turtles,baby lizards, baby dogs, because high doses of SODIUM and POTASSIUM will KILL these animals.He said these products are good for human beings or BIG animals because the percentage of sodium and potassium is calculated according to the weight.(How much can weight a baby iguana or a baby painted turtle ?)

A friend of mine soaked his baby painted turtle in ORALITE( a product similar to PEDIALYTE) and she died in less than 10 minutes of heart attack!!

As I said before I prefer natural methods like water, sugar and salt to combat dehydration!!

: i don't believe that an animal/child can "overdose" on Pedialyte ~ but would like to agree to disagree on that point (cuz i'm more asleep than awake for one thing ~ :) )... but ...
