I added a new branch to JJ's enclosure over the weekend. It allows her to get a little closer to a basking light and to her UVB tube. I will hopefully soon be altering the roof to accept a mercury vapor UVB right over this new branch. I put the branch in and wrapped fake vine around it for traction, and covered the zip strip holding it on with another fake plant. I was prepared for the worst... you know poopie paintings and all! But within an hour JJ was climbing back and forth from her "old" branch to the new one! That night, she slept in her usual spot on the "old" branch, but once her lights clicked on the next morning, it was not long before she moved to the new one to warm up even faster. She loves it! Other than eating a bit later than usual that first morning, she never went off her schedule because of the new branch.

On a side note, JJ is taking her meds well for her belly blisters, and while it's hard to tell if they are actually getting better, there are no new ones, and she still has 8 days of meds left. She is on Septra, 5cc. given orally once a day. I still do the surgical scrub once a day on her belly too. If there are blisters left after the antibiotic runs its course, I will get her in to see the doc again, but I think they will clear up with a shed...
