I'd wait a little longer before trying to force feed. Leave food where he can have access to it all day and night...give him some privacy. This is a stressful time for the little guy and it may take a while...several days to a few weeks before he's feeling comfortable to eat regularly. I've had rescues go as long as 3 weeks before eating. In my opinion force feeding is going to add an extra stress that he doesn't need right now. In the picture he looks like he's got pretty good weight on him...the tail base looks nice and full. I say give him at least another week.
