Elliott the iguana missing no more

ROCHELLE PARK - The flight of the iguana ended where it began - at home.
Elliott, a 4-foot-long, orange and green lizard, walked across the basement floor of his Thiem Avenue home early Wednesday, as his 19-year-old owner was watching television with a buddy.
"I heard a loud noise," said Ryan Dreschniol. "I saw him walking over to the dish of lettuce we left out for him to eat."
The reptile had been at large since Saturday, when he bolted from his cage.
Fearful that Elliott had slipped out an open door, Dreschniol's mother called the police Tuesday.
Dreschniol said he and his friend returned home about 6 a.m. Wednesday when he spotted the iguana. He ran over and trapped Elliott in a laundry basket.
"Then he busted out of the laundry basket, too, even though I put weights on it. I had to turn around and grab him," he said.
Dreschniol has no idea where his pet of 13 years spent his time on the lam. He was sporting a fresh coat of dirt.
At last glance, Elliott was safely, although not happily, enclosed. "He looks [angry] that he's sitting in there," Dreschniol said.
Dreschniol doubts another escape will follow. "The whole top of the cage is covered," he said. "I put, like, 65 pounds on there."
