It's hard to say how old he is. Since he's showing male characteristics, he's probably a year and a half at least. However, iguanas growth can be stunted by improper nutrition. Unfortunately this is fairly common, since so many people buy iguanas without learning the first thing about them. Plus, even perfectly healthy iguanas have very different growth rates, just like people and other animals do. If you take him to a good herp vet experienced with iguanas, s/he may be able to give you a better idea of the age of your new iguana.
