I have heard of iguanas eating bird eggs but only when there was nothing else to eat . So I would say that they are not connected . As for the resort in Belize have been to several myself the iguanas are there because there is food there . People feed them so they come . Many places feed them to keep them from searching for food . What would you do climb all day looking for food or go to the place where there is a pile of fresh food on the ground waiting for you ? As for how to get rid of them ? Easy stop feeding them ..
