Just keep everything your igs poop touches very clean and disinfected. Not all igs carry salmonella, and just because one does, does not mean you'll catch it. I have my ig poop in the tub and clean it thoroughly when done. The only time i'd worry about children and igs is if there is a pregnant woman in the house, in which case i'd have someone care for my ig for nine months, because pregnant women are susceptable to your igs diseases, or so they think. They are not sure about it, so better not to take the risk with pregnancy. Don't worry about your son, because as long as everything is clean he doesn't have any more of a chance of getting salmonella than you do, and your chance is very, very slim.
Hope i've helped,

I did a search, and it seems like the majority of salmonella poisonings/research deal on ly with turtles. What is the actual info on this? my son is only 6 and i plan on having more in the near future, so i want to make sure i keep my family healthy, while taking care of the little ig..
: Is it fair to say that with hand cleaning after touching/handling i can 99% sure everything will be fine??
