I knew what you meant hee hee... of course you never punish! But when you have a strong willed ig, you sometimes have to force him to do things he doesn't want! (like being carried somewhere or clipping his nails!) And I freely admit to yelling at Sleestack, but I am a very vocal person anyway. I yell, "STOP EATING THE CARPET!" and clap my hands to get his attention! And he stops to look at me, considers my words, then returns to eating carpet until I physically move him :) I do think he partially understands, but he is a stubborn one. I think he can get the tone of voice thing sometimes.
