is leave the newbie alone with a clean old t-shirt that one of us has rubbed on ourselves into his cage.We clean it often if he poos on it,but replace it with another rubbed on us.
I often would bring the new baby out of the cage in the evening and hold him and rock and whisper to him that all was alright. Not that he understood, but I think the whispering helped calm him.
We also didn't wear any fragances when handling our herps and we'd wear the same t-shirt we wore when handling him the day before. The scent is what they trust and their scent is on you.
This has worked for 12 yrs now and with all kinds of herps.Patience is always or mostly rewarding.
