:Just an addendum, Mr. D I believe what you mentioned may be correct. The burns are not grate imprints but areas that are exposed to the heat. She climbs the branch to the light and lays most of her body on that, head and arms up on grate near light. Checking the sites and this forum, most everyones situp is as mine lights placed as mine Calling around for I've not a lot of e-mail addresses, emergency type vet hosp, they agree that it could happen. How does one prevent this though. They need the warmth Thanks again

I really appreciate alls input and suggestions. The vet I use said what I had been doing as all suggested, soaking betadine, triple antibiotic were fine and did consult an herp vet who suggested a cream, which my vet gave me. The area is peeling leaving raw areas and I am keeping it up. Go back Monday. I have had my set up checked out and it is felt the lights are and were back far enough, the grate should not have been the culpert. I am at a loss. I change them each time they potty so no urine burns, No heating rocks, no heating pads and the temp is 85-90. I add reptivitamens to their food and at times they play in it but I would not think that would be it. But again thankyou all for the time and infor you gave. If I could impose again, for babies of about a month old, I was given two that survived transport from who knows where, allwere sick and three survived these two were in the worst shape. One died but the other, Muffin, is eating and climbing. Temp inside 100, very very shallow plate of water and a plate of ground vegies and vitamins. Used this method before with great results but does anyone have any other suggestions. Thanks again
