I think what you are referring to is a socket type bulb. It is intended for heating not for uvb.
There are no socket type light bulbs that produce satisfactory uvb. These bulbs only serve as heating elements, which can also be done with a normal G/E bulb. I use both Iguana Light 5.0 and Repti-Sun 5.0 from Zoo Med. These fluorescent bulbs certainly provied satisfactory uvb.
