Igs will generally give warning signs, such as shutter bobbing, tail twitching, sticking out their dewlap and making themselves big, with that said though, they don't always show signs, especially if you are in very close proximity to them and not giving them a chance to exhibit signs. If you know what she likes and doesn't like, you already know when she's most likely to bite, whether you choose to ignore that is up to you. I can almost always tell when my ig looks like he may bite, and that is why i've never been bitten by him. You must learn to recognise the signs and pay attention to them. If you do, you'll rarely get bit. BTW, if you do get bit again, never pull away, just wait until the ig releases because if you don't you'll make the damage much worse by tearing.

Good Luck,
John-Paul: Hi all!
: I just had a small concern about my ig. She's about a year old now and she bit me for the first time about three weeks ago (on the NOSE -- it HURT!! :-( ) Ever since then I've been kind of leery when holding her because every time she moves her head to lick the air or whatever she's sitting on I think she's going to bite me again. When she bit me the last time I was peeling the skin from her toes (I know, I know, I probably shouldn't have been doing that) but I'm always worried about the scales growing over her claws. I used to kind of rub noses with her when she was a baby and she'd lick my nose, but now when I do that she opens her mouth like she's going to bite.
: I guess my question is if igs have any particular "pre-bite" behaviors or if there are things I do that make her more or less likely to bite. I don't want to be scared of her because I've enjoyed having her so far; I just want to minimize the possibility of her biting again. Thanks!
