dont think I am a complete idiot but maybe I am. I have two iguanas. I use 100 watt light bulbs on their enclosure and it was fine until the new enclosure. Emmileath now has burns where she was leaning against the wire. I do not have the lamp up against the wire and to touch it does not feel hot but then again an iguanas skin is a lot more tender then mine. The new wire is actually a grill as in a refridgerator shelf. Do I just keep this area moist until healed, unfortunately there are no vets in the area versed in reptiles. How is best to treat it and what type of lights should I use. The enclosure is 3ft deepx6ft tallx6ft long, enclosed on three sides with regular wire on top. Though perching/basking areas they prefer to stay near the bottom that is why I moved the light and they would lean against the wire for the warmth. I asked some supply houses and they said for that size of enclosure, the 100 watt was best but to me not at the expense of my guys. any and all suggestions are welcome, I know they have to be hurting what can I do? Thank you
