I actually have lots of experience with these!

First soak him in a luke warm tub for 15 minutes. Then carefully lift up his tail near the vent--at as far of a 90 degree angle as it can comfortably go. (I find it is easier if you can put him at eye level when you do this) Have some papertowels handy. If the plug sticks out when you do this, then it is basically ready to come out (in my opinion). Use the papertowel to grab the end and gently pull. The warm soak should have made it softer and help it come out easier. If you still need help, you can use KY jelly around the plug and vent and try again. If it still doesn't come out, just leave it be but continue with daily tub soaks and a similar process. He should release it on his own theoretically so you may just want to do the tub soaks and not mess with it. Sleestack has a history of getting them stuck, however, although he is getting better with age.

Once I tried the soaks, the KY, and everything but had to finally take him to the vet to have it removed! It looked extremely painful and was forcing his vent open on one side for days. It was the biggest, thickest plug I'd ever seen before or since. He started walking odd and couldn't pass it on his own or with all of my pulling. I was worried I may damage is hemipenis so I let the vet take care of it.

In conclusion....warm soaks will help them pass it, but if not, you can assist. If there are no results in days and it is lodged in the vent and drying out/hardening-- get a vet to help.
