well, it probabaly wouldn`t be good to put the cage over a grassy area, if you have a spot with cement on the ground that might be better, at least thats what i would think. but then again, its not like wild iguanas are shielded from bugs...maybe if you set it on the grass, you should just watch her and the cage closely. her eating the grass probably wouldn`t be the best thing in the world though. you might want to try and build the pvc cage you can find it on the house of galahad website( i think) i`m going to build it for my own ig when the weather gets a little warmer. the great thing about it is that it is lightweight, cheap, and easy to biuld. it is also able to come apart so its even portable and easy to store.
: I'm thinking about building an outdoor summer enclosure for my iguana for when the weather gets warmer, and I was wondering about a few things. The first is should I have a bottom. I am not sure if I should let her come in contact with the grass due to possible fertalizers and stuff like that. also Should I worry about bugs? she hasn't had any kind of mites since I got rid of the ones she had from the petstore when I got her two years ago. Any other suggestions, I already have some Ideas about materials, and I know not to leave her outside without supervision and to make sure she has shade and water. Thanks
