A mature male will leave seminal plugs during breeding season. Also, the "raw meat" that came out of the vent leads me to believe yours is a male. Mine also has that (looks like a chicken liver) and I don't think females do.

Growth of an ig also depends on how the ig is taken care of. Proper food and lighting is very important to the growth and health of your ig. My ig is very young (two) and he's fairly large (41"). He would be longer, but he lost a few inches of tail a while back.

Male igs also have enlarged waxy looking pores on the inside of their thighs (females are much smaller). At first I thought mine was a female and then all of a sudden the pores enlarged.
