: Take a look on http://www.marktplaats.nl. have a look how many iguanas are trying to find new homes. Often they are being sold in too small cages which in my opinion is a situation where the owner has bought the cute little lizard in the pet shop and suddenly realised that he's gonna grow a whole lot.
That's why I never sell to people that will not pick them up. If they do they see the size of the adults (and they are impressivly huge).
: Theres a fair amount on that site, and thats only the ones who have found the site.
I know, most of these are placed by semi commercial persons that pretend to be a rescue centre but basically are only in it for the money.
: There will be plenty of other owners trying to find new homes. And until breeding is stopped the 'second-hand' iguanas are never going to find good homes.
: Please reconsider? If you really are a true iguana lover then you will.
The thing is that I bought these and the female was already pregnant. You suggest me feeding the eggs to my monitors??
: Do you have homes for the babys to go to? If not, are you planning to keep the leftovers? If yes, then you'd might as well buy second hand iggies that are desperately searching for a new home.
Yes, sortof... I have a deal with a local herp store that wants to take on all my cb's that will remain, and I have several friends that are willing to have one. About taking on rejects, I all ready have. Apart from this pair I have two maltreated youngsters that are starting to flourish now.
Kind regards,
Pepijn
