I have VERY little experience with iguanas so if anyone who has more wants to correct me please do, I'm talking from a different herp's perspective. I do know that when frogs get shipped and moved around a lot, they get (as you said) very stressed and it is not uncommon for a frog to sleep for days, even without eating, and then perk up right away after they get cozied in. It could be the same deal with igs. They just don't know what's going on, are stressed out, and herps may exhibit stress differently than we might (aka sleeping). :)
Like I said, I could be completely wrong, but this is very common in other herp areas. :)
