i just purchased a young iggy from a local reptile shop. Im sure he was very traumatized the day that I got him because he had just arrived that day in a bag if iggys that had just been shipped from Miami via ups. Ive had him for two days now. I expected him to be a little lively and a vigorous eater. So far all he doeas is lay on the heat pad and sleep. Even when I get him out of the cage and hold him, he quickly falls asleep and is hard to wake. He is eating once a day out of my hand but will not eat out of his bowl. We do offer fresh food twice a day, but he is so busy sleeping that he doesnt wqant to eat much.Is a baby iggy supposed to be so lazy? He doesnt even climb onto the wood or plants in his cage. He stays on the bottom on the heat pad. Ive checked the temp of cage and it is ok, as well as lighting. He was treated for parasites by the seller the day I got him.I guess I was just expecting to see more activity. Maybe he is acting normal, but my last iguana(who was older) was not so sedate. Is this normal behavior for a baby iggy?
