Both Habib and Bobbit have escaped from their outdoor cage and both of them stayed really close to the cage when they were out.
At first, I too, thought that iguanas would run away for sure...But one day, Habib was missing for over and hour and I thought she would never resurface. I was paniced. She had gotten out of her cage by prying up the staples which held the netting/wire on the beams. I looked and looked for her and was very worried. I went inside to take a break from looking and then about an hour later, I went to the back door to go out and search one last time before giving up for the day. There she was, patiently waiting for me on the back porch, just like a dog who wanted to come back inside. :)
So, I guess some of them are they type to want to stay home or at least near their cage and door.
I agree--Having iguanas is a ball and I wouldn't give my two babies up for anything!
