I don't know about you other rescuers, but my sweet foster Abner is stealing my heart! I can't believe how tame he is! I thought BAby was tame, but Abner makes him look like godzilla. It will be very hard to give him up, but when the right person comes along, I will have to! Baby will always be #1...
Anyway, I wanted to ask if anyone out there has an Iguana that will come back in on his own when you take him outside?
We have really been enjoying all this hot weather here in NC and I've been trying to get my guys outside everyday. So, we go in the backyard, (we have a rather tall chain-link fence and they are both too big to run through it. There are no trees in our back yard either!).
The first day I tried it I thought for sure they would try to bolt up and over the fence, but today will be the 5th time and they still haven't figured out that they can climb the fence.
They sit there and bask for awhile and then eat dandilions etc. Abner poops out there every time! I love that! LOL
Abner will stay out longer than baby...I believe he's older and less afraid. Baby isn't three yet so he's still a bit skittish. He lasts maybe 15 minutes.
Well, I'm starting to ramble but my point is that BOTH lizards know where the darn backdoor is and, by golly, when they are ready to go in they just march right up to it! I am so amazed at how smart they really are.
No-one can ever tell me Iguanas aren't enjoyable. I'm having a ball!!! Anyone else have any experiences like this to share? Any recommendations for when I'm taking them outside? Thanks. J
