Ok, Isis bit me REALLY bad yesterday right on the cheek, and then he scrambled on top of my head. I bled alot and it hurt pretty bad. I put him back in his cage and put Neosporin on it. How can I stop him? Nothing bad-tasting will work becuase he does it out of anger and very vicously! Also, I took him to the vet for mites a few weeks ago. They were not that bad. The vet picked him up, gave him a shot and said"that should do it!"I had no idea what he gave my ig. Last night I was reading IGUANAS for dummies(by Melissa kaplan, I highly recommend:-) and it said that some vets suggest Ivermectin for mites, which they use on cows and sheep. Even the manufacturer says not to use it on reptiles becuase it is so dangerous. I think that might be what he injected into Isis. Do you think that is why he is staying in his hide? the temps are much higher below the basking spot than over the heating pad. HELP!!I fear for my little devil! It was a few weeks ago but how fast does it hurt them? His mites are gone, true, but he does not look so good. Lately he is really highstrung and sometimes the opposite, lethargic. he does not eat much at all and it is caring me. My mom won't take him to the vet becuase she thinks I am just being overly cautios but i am not. What do i do? i don't think I should take him back to that vet since he might be the one causeing it. WHAT DO I DO!!!!!!!????????
