feel free to rant and rave to your heart's content, Shanna =)

We all have the need to ramble from time to time, and sometimes we just have a lot to say!!

After I got my first bite from Gali, the juvie, I became shell shocked, myself. After a while it has become almost ritual (whip, open mouth, try to bite...) and there isn't much of anything special to be expected. once he's been out for a while he calms down significantly. I also noticed that once I moved him into a larger cage he bacema a bit more calm as well. I think small cages / tanks stress them to the point of aggression. After all, there are very few reasons that animals bite. They are either threatened, scared, stressed, or have been conditioned to and it is the only thing they know to do. there is no such thing as a mean animal. Just something to keep in mind when you get very frustrated-- "he's just very, very, petrified!! =)

Its good to keep a washcloth nearby to throw in the face of a charging iguana if they try to bite.

GOOD LUCK
