if it was a clean break + just the tip of his tail, he should be fine ... clean it + glob some antibiotic ointment on it a couple times a day for a few days ... keep an eye on it "just in case" ~ any swelling or oozing + i'd call the vet ...

peroxide *stings* and i really hate to use it on animals (or little kids!) for that reason ... (ok, i hate to use it on ME for that reason as well ...)

rinse it with water ... put "Betadine" on your shopping list, it's a good thing to have around for cleaning owies for igs OR humons ...

be prepared for Not-spike to be terrified of the tub at 1st ... i'd start with warm water barely covering the bottom of the tub and let him get used to that ... iZ was a whoppin' 30" when i met him and he was scared to pieces of the water for weeks! he especially did NOT like the feeling of floating at 1st ... he wanted his back feet firmly on the tub floor and his front feet firmly grasping my arm (with me almost in the tub with him! *grin*)

iZ *loves* grated squash!!!
