male or female?

The people at the crappy petstore couldn't tell me whether my lizard, Komodo, was a male or a female. I read somewhere that you can sex your Iguana by the bump-things on the sides of it's throat. Komodo has one, though it looks like there's a half of one next to the full one. It's confusing.
