When I went in to feed Jupiter and get him new water and excercise, i noticed some "stuff" on his lip. I figured it was just some squash and went to wipe it off. When he opened hi mouth however, i saw what looked like a smale canker(sp) sore on his bottom lip. I don't know what hapened, i didnt see anything yesterday or this morning. I plan on making a vet appointment, but:
1) Should i wait a few days and see if it heals up?
2) I want to clean it out, but what should i use?
3) While he has the sore, should i mash his food up? This week he is getting chopped Mustard and Collards, and yellow squash. I have to pick more food up tomorrow.
I know that "go to the vet" will be an overwhelming response, but from my working for a vet before they do say that if it doesnt look serious or is minor or not causing discomfort to wait a few days and see how it looks. I'll take any suggestions.
Thank you ...
Mike
