As far as strict basking sources go I agree that a bulb is a bulb is a bulb. If it elevates heat sufficiently it'll do. However, there is zero comparison to be made between a standard fluo tube and a UVB producing one such as a ReptiSun/IguanaLight. Standard fluos produce pretty much zero UVB.
