Combination of the esthetics and more importantly efficiency. Log cabins are one of the most energy efficient designs out there right now. Thermal mass heating and things like that.....

Wish I had known you wanted one. Just got a flyer in from a company selling off 2,3 and 4 bedroom designs for under $35k....
