... they were feeding him lettuce, carrots and alfalfa pellets ... his poop was huge ...
i would *think* that the alfalfa would've really added the bulk + maybe had something to do with the size ...
like a cat did it (i have cats and am just comparing)...
LOL ~ there've beens times when if i hadn't SEEN iZ poop with my own eyes, i'd have blamed it on the *dog* ... *grin*
It has been a few months since i got him, and now his poop seems a lot smaller.
The humidity in his enclosure hasnt been staying up, and i am wondering if his poop is smaller because he is absorbing more moisture from it to keep his moisture up.
that's a possiblity ... try serving his salads *very* wet to get some extra moisture in him ...
He still makes a mess of it if i dont get to it first.
that answers one question i had ~ if he's still able to make a *mess*, it sounds like the poop itself is still soft/moist ~ that is a *good* thing! if he was getting really dehydrated, his poop would also be getting harder/drier while getting smaller ...
I am just wondering why it isnt as big as before. I also thought maybe it was so big because he was getting rid of junk form his poor diet and his body was adapting. ...
the "getting rid of junk" makes sense + i think could be part of it ...
how *often* is he going??
if he's going more frequently than he was used to before, then it follows that the amount would be smaller ...
if he's going on a regular basis and the poop itself is soft but formed it's prob'ly fine ...
keeping an eye on an ig's "output" is just as important as being careful what you feed it ... sometimes it *is* the 1st (or only) sign you get that something isn't quite right ...
(does that help at all???)
Bon. (extreme paranoid humommy)
