Well I'm lucky in that I have 2 farmer's markets and 2 grocery stores within a few block radius of where I live...and they all have good greens! I can get watercress, escarole or endive for about .99 but collard, mustard, and turnip greens vary (sometimes I buy the most expensive ones because they are the best quality...those are $2.60, although on rare occasion I can get collards for .99) I do not care for the precut, bagged versions since the stems are hard to weed out-- much better if I do it all myself. Dandelion are more expensive. Anyway, squash, green beans, pea pods etc. aren't much and squash lasts me a couple weeks. My collards last 2 weeks if I get them very fresh as well. I give him whatever fruit I eat, except when I get mango and that's .99 Sometimes I go crazy and buy all the most expensive stuff, but many times I could spend $5 per week (since I don't count crossover foods that I eat)
