: On the low side, you can get away with spending $5 per week on food, depending on where you live. Sometimes you will spend more. But I must say that this is really one of the least monetary concerns regarding having an iguana! That is the cheap part... the cage, lighting, vet bills etc. are what add up.
: As far as a cage, there are some custom cages online that you can buy although they are very expensive. You may as well build one yourself. Depending on your design, the price can really differ. Here is a link to the last cage we built, which wasn't cheap anyway!
: Research and ask many questions before making your final decision regarding bringing an iguana into your life...they are a lot of work. Buy James Hatfield's Giant Green Iguana Manual or Melissa Kaplan's Iguanas For Dummies (both great sources of info). And should you decide you can handle this responsibility, please adopt an iguana because there are iguanas of all ages and sexes in need of a good home.
