Hi there,
Start of next month I will taking over a pair of large adult Iguana's. The female currently is producing eggs, but still in an early stage.
A few questions remain about husbandry:
What would be a good substrate for them? My young rescues currently are on a mix of sand and wood chips, but what would be ideal for them taken humidity in consideration?
These adults have rather big claws (they have never been trimmed). Now I don't care the claws but do they need clipping for their own sake or is it like cats that the scrape them of on the trees in the cage?
What kind of cage furniture is wise to use? Offcourse branches of appropriate size and numbers are required, a water dish and lights (duh). But to make the cage more attractive to the eye I was wondering if you guys (M/F) had ideas? Live plants will be eaten so that's not reallyt an option, as will in hose trees suufer to much from these animals to prosper. Cork pannels will be demolished within an eye blink, so plastic plants will be hard to use...
thanx and grtz
