abcesses are nothing to mess around with! it is an infection that needs not only to be lanced but your ig will also need antibiotics ... untreated, it can worsen, spread and eventually cause it's death ... i would think that vet would give you "Baytril" which is an oral antibiotic in addition to a topical antibiotic ...
