iZ's mom is exactly right. You have much to be concerned about other than bites. Generally, iguana keepers are divided into two groups: Those who have been bitten, and those who will be. This is inconsequential to serious iguana keepers, since the problems involved in keeping a 6 foot, 20 lb reptile with a potentially bad attitude and a 20 year lifespan go far beyond biting. You can learn much from this forum by reading and learning BEFORE you get an iguana. And, if you learn enough and decide to own one, look into adoption, as there are far too many unwanted iguanas dying every day from neglect and not being wanted by people who thought they were "neat".
IF you can demonstrate that you're serious, responsible, and have done your homework, there are many on this forum who will be overjoyed to supply an iguana to you.
Don't expect this to be easy, and learn what "commitment" really means before you leap in... To paraphrase an old saying, " many come here, but few learn"
Regards,
JohnT
