Well it will cause stress, atlhough some igs will get more stressed out than others. My last ig was good with it (Sleestack is impossible!).

I use a big dog carrier modified with a plexi front to minimize nose damage. I bring a clip lamp for heat and a small UV if possible. I have never traveled more than a day by car with him so you could be in for some real messes (bring lots of newspapers and papertowels) It is best to travel by night while they sleep. He will be very unhappy during the day being cooped up in a carrier and you will hear him scratching a lot and you will smell him pooping when he gets mad enough! (uggh) At hotels or in homes, you can keep him in the bathroom, setting up a basking spot on the counter or on his crate. This works pretty well (just clear out all breakables, towels and rugs) so if he has an accident it will be easy to clean. You can bring a cooler with an ice pack and small baggies or a tupperware container full of his greens/veggies. Oh yeah, you may need to get some of those camping heat packs if you are traveling in cold weather. Make sure they are wrapped in muliple socks so they don't burn him. Good luck.
